Befriending your Nervous System - Finding Home Base in Your Window of Presence

  • Sisu Wellness Center 40 Maine Avenue Easthampton, MA, 01027 United States (map)

Come learn to become a wiser operator of your body, heart, and mind. This 2 1/2-hour workshop will introduce you to your autonomic nervous system from the inside out, through the lens of polyvagal theory and an array of experiential practices.

You'll gain a deep appreciation for how your nervous system regulates your energy and attention, along with all of your bodily functions, and discover strategies for spending more of your life in your most well-regulated window of presence.

Through somatic movement, visualization, and journaling, we'll explore the three branches of the autonomic nervous system - social, sympathetic, and parasympathetic - and how they work together to keep our bodies healthy and safe. We'll create an anchor into a deep sense of how your nervous system feels in its most regulated, connected, and present state that will help you recognize and return to this window of presence in your daily life. We'll then map when and how we get triggered out of presence and what can help bring us back.

We'll explore a number of movement, breathing, meditation, and vocalization techniques to quickly help bring our systems back into regulation, as well as strategies for shifting our baselines over time and expanding our windows of presence.

Register at Sisu Wellness. Learn more about your autonomic nervous system and how befriending it can improve your life and health. Questions? Contact me.
